Installing a solar kit is the first step, but optimising your self-consumption rate is the key to maximum profitability. Without an optimisation strategy, you risk feeding up to 50% of your production back into the grid for free, drastically reducing your return on investment.

How can you achieve 70-80% self-consumption? The key lies in synchronising production and consumption. Programme your washing machine, dishwasher, water heater and electric vehicle to run in the middle of the day when production is at its peak. Connected sockets and home automation allow you to automate this management without any manual constraints.

What to do with surplus production? You have three options: feed it back into the grid (free or paid depending on your country/contract), store it in batteries for night-time consumption, or use it to power thermal equipment (water heaters, heat pumps) to directly convert the surplus into heat.
