The Deye SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is a 48 V low-voltage three-phase hybrid inverter with a nominal AC power output of 8.8 kW. Thanks to its SG05LP3 series architecture, it sits at the top of Deye’s low-voltage three-phase range, offering the highest AC power available in this segment (8,000 W active / 8,800 VA) with a PV input of up to 12,000 W. It is designed for large homes with a high prosumer ratio, three-phase SMEs and agricultural projects seeking to combine 48 V storage, advanced energy management and uninterrupted power supply in all circumstances.

8.8 kW three-phase: performance and power-to-footprint ratio

With a maximum efficiency of 97.6% (Euro 97.0%) and MPPT efficiency of ≥ 99.9%, the SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 makes the most of every watt generated. Its 12, 000 W PV input for an 8,000 W active AC output represents a DC/AC ratio of 1.5 — ideal for optimising production during periods of low sunlight and smoothing out winter peaks. The maximum PV short-circuit current of 30 + 30 A makes it compatible with high-power panels (500–700 Wp) without current limitation.

48V battery storage: extended compatibility, 190 A charging current

The SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 operates with 40–60 V low-voltage batteries, whether lithium-ion or lead-acid. Its maximum charge/discharge current of 190 A enables rapid recharging of a large capacity (up to ~9.7 kW at 51.2 V) to meet three-phase consumption peaks. BMS management is automatic via CAN, RS485 or RS232 — the inverter is compatible with Pylontech, DeLong, Leapton, Dyness, WECO and other compatible brands.

Main Screen



The LCD screen is touch-sensitive and displays general information about the inverter.

1 • The icon in the centre of the home screen indicates that the system is operating normally. If it displays "comm./F01~F64", this means that the inverter has communication errors or other faults. The error message will appear below this icon (errors F01-F64; details of the errors can be viewed in the System Alarms menu).

2 • The time is displayed at the top of the screen.

3 • System configuration icon. Press this button to access the system configuration screen, which includes basic configuration, battery configuration, grid configuration, system operating mode, generator port usage, advanced functions and Li-Ion battery information.

4 • The main screen displays information regarding solar, grid, load and battery. It also indicates the direction of energy flow using arrows. When power approaches a high level, the colour of the panels changes from green to red, allowing system information to be clearly viewed on the main screen.



- PV power and charging power always remain positive.

- A negative grid power reading indicates power being sold to the grid; a positive reading indicates power being drawn from the grid.

- A negative battery power reading indicates charging; a positive reading indicates discharging.

FAQ - Deye 8kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter

1. Can the Deye SUN-8K inverter operate without a battery? +
Yes, the SG05 model can operate in ‘battery-free’ mode. In this configuration, it uses solar energy and/or the grid to power your loads. Please note, however, that the backup functions will not be active without a battery bank installed.
2. Can this inverter be installed outdoors? +
Yes. Thanks to its IP65 rating, it can be installed both indoors and outdoors. However, it is recommended that you protect it from direct sunlight and excessive humidity to preserve its electronic components in the long term.
3. Which batteries are compatible with this system? +
The inverter is compatible with 48V lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. It supports BMS communication via CAN/RS485 for most leading brands such as Pylontech, Dyness, Deye, WECO, etc.
4. Can multiple inverters be connected in parallel? +
Yes. The SG05 model allows parallel operation of up to 16 units, depending on the hardware version. This offers great flexibility to increase the total power of your solar installation should your needs change.
5. Does the inverter support grid feed-in or zero-feed-in mode? +
The inverter supports grid feed-in. For those who do not wish to sell their surplus energy, it is entirely possible to configure a zero-feed-in mode via an external meter or directly through the device’s internal settings.
6. Does the inverter continue to operate in the event of a power cut? +
Yes, provided a battery is installed. In the event of a mains power cut, the inverter automatically switches to backup mode to continue supplying power to your priority loads without any noticeable interruption.
7. What maintenance is required for this unit? +
The Deye SUN-8K requires no complex maintenance. It is simply recommended that you regularly check that the ventilation openings are not blocked and keep the unit clean to ensure optimal heat dissipation.
