The Deye SUN-12K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is the flagship model of the SG05LP3 series: with 12,000 W active AC (13,200 VA), a PV input of 15,600 W and 4 physical strings across 2 independent MPPT trackers, it stands out as the benchmark for large three-phase photovoltaic installations with a 48 V low-voltage battery. It is designed for large, high-consumption homes, SMEs and three-phase commercial buildings, as well as agricultural installations seeking to maximise self-consumption without investing in a high-voltage battery.




4 strings, 26 A per MPPT: maximum flexibility for complex rooftops

The main difference between the SUN-12K and the 8K and 10K models lies in its PV input topology: 4 physical strings (2+2) distributed across 2 independent MPPT trackers. This configuration allows up to 4 separate strings of panels to be connected — ideal for multi-pitch, multi-orientation (East/West + South) or partially shaded roofs. Each MPPT supports up to 26 A (max short-circuit 39 A), making it compatible with very high-power solar modules (600–700 Wp).

48V battery storage: 240 A, the highest current in the SG05LP3 range

The SUN-12K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 achieves a maximum charge/discharge current of 240 A — the highest in the SG05LP3 low-voltage range. At a nominal 51.2 V, this represents a charging power of up to ~12.3 kW, enabling a large battery bank to be recharged in record time during solar production peaks. BMS management is fully automatic via CAN, RS485 or RS232.

The LCD screen is touch-sensitive and displays general information about the inverter.

1 • The icon in the centre of the home screen indicates that the system is operating normally. If it displays "comm./F01~F64", this means the inverter has communication errors or other faults. The error message will appear below this icon (errors F01-F64; details of the errors can be viewed in the System Alarms menu).

2 • The time is displayed at the top of the screen.

3 • System configuration icon. Press this button to access the system configuration screen, which includes basic configuration, battery configuration, grid configuration, system operating mode, generator port usage, advanced functions and Li-Ion battery information.

4 • The main screen displays information regarding solar, grid, load and battery. It also indicates the direction of energy flow using arrows. When power approaches a high level, the colour of the panels changes from green to red, allowing system information to be clearly viewed on the main screen.



- PV power and charging power always remain positive.

- A negative grid power reading indicates power being sold to the grid; a positive reading indicates power being drawn from the grid.

- A negative battery power reading indicates charging; a positive reading indicates discharging.

FAQ - Deye 12kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter

1. Can the Deye SUN-12K inverter operate without a battery? +
Yes, the SG05 model can operate in ‘battery-free’ mode. In this configuration, it uses solar energy and/or the grid to power your loads. Please note, however, that the backup functions will not be active without an energy storage system installed.
2. Can this inverter be installed outdoors? +
Yes. Thanks to its IP65 protection rating, it is designed for both indoor and outdoor installation. However, it is recommended that you install it away from direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight or extreme humidity to optimise its lifespan.
3. Which batteries are compatible with the Deye SUN-12K? +
The inverter is compatible with 48V lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. It fully supports BMS communication via CAN/RS485 with leading brands such as Pylontech, Dyness, Deye, WECO, and many others.
4. Can multiple inverters be connected in parallel for more power? +
Absolutely. The SG05 model allows for parallel connection of up to 16 units. This modularity enables you to increase the total power of your system as your energy needs change.
5. Does the inverter allow for feed-in to the grid or ‘zero-injection’? +
Yes, it supports feeding into the national grid to sell surplus energy. If you prefer not to feed any energy into the grid, you can easily configure a "zero-injection" mode via the internal settings or by using an external meter.
6. What happens in the event of a power cut? +
If a battery is connected, the inverter switches instantly to backup mode. It continues to power your priority loads via its dedicated “Back-up” output, thus protecting you from interruptions to the public grid.
7. What maintenance is required for this unit? +
Maintenance is minimal. Simply check periodically that the ventilation slots are clean and unobstructed to ensure optimal heat dissipation. A clean environment extends the reliability of the electronic components.
