Pylontech 200A Dual-Pole DC Battery Protection Box – Ready for Installation


The 200A protection box for Pylontech batteries is a turnkey solution for securing your installations. This box provides full bipolar protection, simultaneously isolating the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals for maximum safety against overloads and short circuits.





Contents of the box

This box is supplied complete, pre-wired and ready to install:

  • IP65 enclosure: Total protection against dust and water splashes.
  • 2P 200A DC1000V bipolar circuit breaker: Simultaneous protection of both polarities.
  • 2 x 50 mm² cables with terminals: Direct and robust connection to the inverter.
  • 2 pairs of Pylontech battery cables: Specific connectors for a secure connection.





How the cabinet works

The cabinet centralises and secures the energy flow of your battery bank:

  • Pylontech batteries are connected to the cabinet via dedicated connectors.
  • Bipolar protection: The circuit breaker disconnects both lines, ensuring there is no residual current in the event of a power cut.
  • Power is distributed steadily to the inverter via the 50 mm² cables.

Principle: By disconnecting both poles simultaneously, this system provides true galvanic isolation, protecting the user and the inverter’s electronics.

Commissioning

  1. Check that the bipolar circuit breaker is in the OFF position.

  5. Switch the circuit breaker to ON to activate the protection.

FAQ - 200A DC Protection Box for Pylontech Batteries

1. Is this box compatible with all Pylontech models? +
Yes, this box is universal for the Pylontech low-voltage range. It is perfectly suited to the US2000, US3000 and US5000 models. It also includes specific cables with Amphenol connectors proprietary to Pylontech.
2. What is “full bipolar protection”? +
Unlike single-pole protection, which only cuts off the positive terminal, bipolar protection simultaneously cuts off both the (+) and (-) terminals. This ensures total galvanic isolation of the battery bank, eliminating any risk of residual current for maximum safety.
3. Why is the enclosure IP65-rated? +
The IP65 rating means that the enclosure is completely dust-tight and protected against water jets. This allows you to install your protection safely in technical environments such as a garage, a basement or a battery room.
4. Is a 50 mm² cable cross-section sufficient? +
Absolutely. A 50 mm² cross-section is specifically rated to handle a continuous current of 200A without excessive heating. This ensures optimal performance and minimises voltage drops between your batteries and your inverter.
5. Is this box really ‘ready to install’? +
Yes, it is a Plug & Play solution. The circuit breaker is already fitted in the enclosure and the cables are pre-fitted with terminals and battery connectors. There is no complex crimping required; you simply need to connect them to the terminals.
6. Can this box be used with Victron or WKS inverters? +
Absolutely. Although the connectors are designed for Pylontech batteries, the 50 mm² output cables can be connected to the DC inputs of any hybrid inverter (Victron, Deye, WKS, etc.) that supports these cable sizes.
7. How do I reset the system after a trip? +
If the circuit breaker switches to OFF following an overload, first identify the cause of the problem. Once resolved, simply move the lever manually upwards (ON). Unlike a fuse, it can be reused indefinitely.
8. What maintenance does the box require? +
The enclosure requires little maintenance. We recommend an annual check of the tightness of the terminals (vibrations or thermal cycles can sometimes loosen them) and a manual test of the circuit breaker to ensure it operates correctly.
