The Victron Multiplus inverter has many functions. It combines a sine wave converter, a sophisticated charger and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch in a single compact housing. It's a powerful battery charger that demands high currents. Charging power can be limited via the control panel.

The most important functions are "Powerassist" and "Powercontrol". These functions take energy from the batteries and add it to the output when demand exceeds the capacity of the genset or shore power. Thanks to these functions, it is possible to manage peak currents in excess of the power of a genset or connection for a given period of time. Surplus power is used to recharge batteries when power demand falls.

Description

Unique PowerAssist function

The MultiPlus will prevent overcharging of a limited AC source, such as a shore power or generator connection. First, the battery charging process will be automatically reduced; otherwise, overcharging will occur. Then, the output of a generator or shore power will be stimulated by extracting power from the battery.

Uninterrupted AC power (UPS function)

In the event of a mains failure or disconnection of the shore power or generator, the Multi's inverter automatically activates and resumes power supply to connected loads. This transfer is so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that the operation of computers or other electronic equipment will not be disturbed.

Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel operation

Up to 6 Multi's can be operated in parallel to obtain more output power. Three-phase or split-phase operation is also possible. Please check our datasheets to see which models are available for parallel, three-phase or split-phase operation.

Remote monitoring and control

When paired with a GX device (e.g. a Cerbo GX), you can supervise and control your Multi and system(s) either locally (LAN) or remotely over the Internet from anywhere in the world via the free VRM app and the free VRM website. You can access it from a phone, tablet, laptop or PC running different operating systems. There's no limit to the level of control you can have over your system, whether it's making settings on your Multi or initiating automatic start-up of your standby generator, and much more... "

2 AC outputs

The main output provides a continuous power supply. In the event of grid disconnection or failure, the multiplus inverter takes over very quickly (20 milliseconds) to supply the connected loads, so that the operation of connected electronic devices is not disrupted. The second output is active when AC is available on one of the inverter inputs. It can be used to connect devices that would not discharge the battery (a water heater, for example).

More output power

You can connect up to 6 multiplus inverters in parallel to boost output power.

Three-phase

You can connect 3 multiplus inverters of the same model for three-phase output. (up to 6 series of 3 inverters)

Powercontrol

The powerful battery charger built into the unit requires high currents when connected. The control panel limits this power and uses only the surplus for charging, thus avoiding overloads.

Powerassist

This function supplements the capacity of the AC source in the event of short-term power demand. When power demand falls, the surplus is used to recharge the batteries.

Simple installation

The multiplus inverter is ready to use straight out of the box, with no need for a PC to program it. Operation can be programmed using DIP switches.
