The Enwitech NL/BE external protection box is a complete technical solution approved by SolarEdge for securing photovoltaic installations with storage and backup functions. Specifically designed for the StorEdge SE5000-RWS single-phase hybrid inverter, this box intelligently manages the switchover between the public electricity grid and stand-alone back-up mode.
The SolarEdge StorEdge system combines photovoltaic production, battery storage and a back-up function to provide optimum energy autonomy. The Enwitech protection box is at the heart of the Backup function, enabling your installation to switch automatically to autonomous mode in the event of a power cut.
This solution is particularly suitable for installations requiring continuity of service to supply priority equipment:
The Enwitech NL/BE cabinet is exclusively compatible with the SolarEdge StorEdge SE5000-RWS single-phase hybrid inverter. This limited compatibility ensures optimal integration and maximum system reliability, as all components have been tested and validated together by SolarEdge.
The external protective enclosure, the components used and the electrical cabling have been tested and approved by the SolarEdge manufacturer, guaranteeing the compliance and safety of your installation.
The SE5000-RWS inverter is a 5 kW hybrid inverter that simultaneously manages solar production, battery storage and consumer power, with the ability to automatically switch to Backup mode via this protection box.
The electrical characteristics of the Enwitech box are suitable for single-phase residential installations with a back-up function:
The maximum power of 4.5 kW in Backup mode makes it easy to supply a home's priority equipment. The ability to temporarily ramp up to 7 kW for 5 minutes (300 seconds) means that equipment with high initial consumption, such as pumps or compressors, can be started up.
The Enwitech box provides compliant management of earthing systems in different configurations:
This automatic management of neutral systems guarantees regulatory compliance and personal safety in all circumstances, whether the installation is connected to the public network or operating independently.

The Enwitech enclosure is professionally built for durability and reliability:
The compact dimensions of 448 x 432 x 161 mm (W x H x D) allow discreet wall mounting close to the StorEdge inverter and the general electrical panel. The 10 kg weight ensures stable and secure mounting.
The Enwitech enclosure is designed to operate in a wide range of environmental conditions typical of indoor installations:
These extended ranges guarantee reliable operation in the majority of installation environments, including unheated equipment rooms, garages or protected semi-outdoor spaces.
The Enwitech enclosure complies with the most stringent European standards for switchgear assemblies and energy storage systems:
These certifications attest to the quality, reliability and safety of the enclosure for use in residential and professional electrical installations.
The Enwitech protection box is integrated between the public grid, the StorEdge SE5000-RWS inverter and the distribution board for priority consumers. Its role is threefold:
The installation requires a specific configuration with separation of priority circuits (supplied in Backup mode) and non-priority circuits (cut off during network failures). This architecture optimises battery autonomy by backing up only essential equipment.
A NL/BE (Netherlands/Belgium) version of this box is available, configured to comply with the specific electrical regulations of these countries for storage systems with a backup function. The main features of this version include
There is also a FR (France) version of the box, with specific adaptations to French standards. Be sure to order the version that corresponds to your country of installation.
To take full advantage of the Backup function, the StorEdge system requires the addition of SolarEdge-compatible batteries. The recommended storage capacity depends on your autonomy requirements and the power of the equipment to be backed up.

The Enwitech box must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with good practice and current local regulations. The main steps include :
The technical documentation supplied with the enclosure details the wiring diagrams and commissioning procedures specific to the StorEdge system.
The Enwitech external protection box is delivered complete with all protection, switching and monitoring components pre-wired and tested at the factory.
