The Sofar Solar HYD10KTL-3PH is the 10 kW three-phase hybrid inverter from the HYD range, an international version without Synergrid certification. It is designed for installations in France, Luxembourg and internationally. It features 2 independent battery ports (50A total), an EPS peak power of 20,000 VA for 60 seconds and can be paralleled with up to 10 units.

In EPS mode (battery backup power), the HYD10KTL-3PH can deliver 20,000 VA for 60 seconds — twice its rated power. Switchover in under 10 ms. Ideal for simultaneously starting heat pumps, three-phase machine tools, agricultural irrigation systems and three-phase EV chargers.

1. What is the difference between the HYD10KTL-3PH and the HYD10KTL-3PH-A? Which one should I choose depending on my country? +
The HYD10KTL-3PH and the HYD10KTL-3PH-A share the same technical specifications. The difference lies in their grid certification: the "-A" model is specifically Synergrid-certified for Belgium (mandatory for any feed-in to the Belgian grid). The HYD10KTL-3PH, meanwhile, is certified for France (UTE C15-712-1), Germany (VDE V 0124-100, VDE-AR-N 4105), Italy (CEI 0-16/CEI 0-21), the United Kingdom (G98/G99) and the European Union (EN 50549). If your installation is in France, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands or Spain, this model is the right choice.
2. Why does the HYD10KTL-3PH use forced air cooling and what are the implications? +
Unlike the HYD 6KTL and 8KTL models, which operate using natural convection (silent), the HYD10KTL-3PH uses a fan to dissipate the heat generated by its 10,000 W output. This active cooling produces a noise level of less than 45 dB (comparable to a normal conversation), which is perfectly acceptable for installation in a plant room, garage or shed. However, you must ensure there is some ventilation in the space and access for fan maintenance. This inverter is not recommended for installation in an open living area.
3. How does the dual battery port on the HYD10KTL-3PH work, and what is the maximum storage capacity? +
The HYD10KTL-3PH is equipped with 2 independent battery ports, allowing a nominal charge/discharge power of 10,000 W with a total current of 50 A (25 A per port) and a peak of 70 A (35 A per port for 60 s). The accepted battery voltage range is 180 to 800 V (full load: 200–800 V). Compatible with Sofar Solar BTS-5K high-voltage batteries (via BDU module), it can achieve a storage capacity of 5.12 kWh to 40.96 kWh (up to 8 modules in cascade). Pylontech low-voltage (48V) batteries are also supported via CAN/RS485.
4. What is the maximum PV power that can be installed with the HYD10KTL-3PH and how should the 4 strings be configured? +
The Sofar HYD10KTL-3PH supports up to 15,000 Wp of recommended PV power, distributed across 2 MPPT trackers with 2 strings per MPPT, giving a total of 4 physical inputs (7,500 + 7,500 Wp). This 4-string configuration is ideal for complex roofs with 3 to 4 different orientations or panels spread across several slopes.
