The Sofar Solar HYD8KTL-3PH is the 8 kW three-phase hybrid inverter in the HYD range — the 8 kW version of the HYD 6KTL-3PH, with an EPS peak power of 16,000 VA for 60 seconds and universal battery compatibility from 48 V to 800 V. It can be paralleled with up to 10 units and its warranty is extendable up to 20 years.

The Sofar Solar HYD8KTL-3PH is the 8,000 W three-phase hybrid inverter in the HYD range. It shares the same robust design as the HYD 6KTL-3PH — same housing (571×515×264 mm), same universal battery compatibility from 48V to 800V, same parallel capacity of up to 10 units — but with a rated power of 8 kW, a PV capacity of 12,000 Wp and an exceptional EPS peak power of 16,000 VA for 60 seconds. It is designed for large homes, farms and SMEs connected to a 400V three-phase supply requiring maximum backup power.
16 kVA peak EPS for 60 seconds: the most generous backup power in the range
This is the HYD8KTL-3PH’s key advantage over the 6KTL: in UPS mode (battery backup power supply), it can deliver 16,000 VA for 60 seconds — twice its rated power. This reserve allows even the most demanding equipment to be started without difficulty:
- Three-phase heat pumps and industrial compressors (high inrush current on start-up)
- Three-phase machine tools in workshops or on farms
- Multiple simultaneous loads during a mains power cut
- Three-phase electric vehicle chargers in backup mode
- Three-phase agricultural ventilation and irrigation systems
Switchover to UPS mode takes less than 10 ms — imperceptible to almost all electronic and industrial equipment.
Universal battery compatibility: 48V to 800V
The battery voltage range of 180 to 800V allows connection to virtually any lithium-ion or lead-acid battery on the market:

Up to 10 HYD8KTL-3PH units in parallel on the EPS and AC ports, enabling the creation of a three-phase microgrid of up to 80 kW. Ideal for:
- Large agricultural operations with high three-phase consumption (pumps, greenhouses, ventilation)
- SMEs and industrial workshops requiring total power continuity
- Off-grid microgrids
- Projects requiring a gradual power increase in 8 kW increments
What this inverter actually does
- It converts solar energy into 230/400V AC three-phase electricity with a maximum efficiency of 98% and MPPT efficiency of 99.9%
- It stores surplus energy in the connected battery for use in the evening or during a grid outage
- It automatically switches to EPS mode in the event of a grid outage in <10 ms, with a peak power of 16 kVA for 60 seconds
- It feeds surplus energy back into the three-phase grid if your contract allows it
With 16 to 24 panels (8 to 12 kWp) and a 10 to 30 kWh battery, a large property or farm can achieve 70 to 85% self-consumption, representing an estimated saving of between €1,200 and €2,500 per year.

Installation
Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Key points:
- Three-phase 230/400V mains supply required
- 4-pole main circuit breaker (minimum 20A per phase)
- Battery cabling rated for 25A nominal / 40A peak
- Operates without a battery immediately upon installation
