The 150A protection box for Pylontech batteries is a turnkey solution for securing your installations. This box provides full bipolar protection, simultaneously isolating the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals for maximum safety against overloads and short circuits.





Contents of the box

This box is supplied complete, pre-wired and ready to install:

  • IP65 enclosure: Total protection against dust and water splashes.
  • 2P 150A DC1000V bipolar circuit breaker: Simultaneous protection of both polarities.
  • 2 x 50 mm² cables with terminals: Direct and robust connection to the inverter.
  • 2 pairs of Pylontech battery cables: Specialised connectors for a secure connection.





How the cabinet works

The cabinet centralises and secures the energy flow of your battery bank:

  • The Pylontech batteries are connected to the cabinet via dedicated connectors.
  • Bipolar protection: The circuit breaker disconnects both lines, ensuring there is no residual current in the event of a power cut.
  • Power is distributed steadily to the inverter via the 50 mm² cables.

Principle: By disconnecting both poles simultaneously, this system provides true galvanic isolation, protecting the user and the inverter’s electronics.

Commissioning

  1. Check that the bipolar circuit breaker is in the OFF position.
  2. Connect the battery cables to the Pylontech packs.

  5. Switch the circuit breaker to ON to activate the protection.

1. Why is ‘bipolar’ protection essential for my batteries? +
Bipolar protection allows the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals to be disconnected simultaneously. This ensures total galvanic isolation of your battery bank. In the event of a cut-off, no residual current flows, thereby protecting the sensitive electronics of the inverter and the user during maintenance work.
2. Is this box compatible with Pylontech US5000 batteries? +
Yes, this enclosure is compatible with the US2000, US3000 and US5000 models. It comes with cable pairs specifically designed for Pylontech connectors, ensuring an immediate and secure ‘Plug & Play’ connection.
3. What does the IP65 protection rating of the enclosure mean? +
The IP65 rating guarantees that the box is completely dust-tight and protected against water jets. This allows the box to be installed in technical environments such as garages, basements or battery rooms, which can sometimes be damp.
4. Is it easy to install this box yourself? +
It is a turnkey solution: the cabinet is pre-wired. You simply need to connect the supplied cables to the batteries and the inverter, ensuring the correct polarity. No complex crimping tools are required thanks to the included Pylontech connectors.
5. Why is a 50 mm² cable cross-section important? +
A 50 mm² cross-section is essential to handle a 150A direct current. This minimises voltage drops and prevents the cables from overheating, thereby ensuring the longevity and efficiency of your installation.
6. Is the circuit breaker resettable, or do the fuses need to be replaced? +
It is a resettable thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. Unlike a fuse holder, you do not need to replace anything after a trip. Once the fault has been rectified, simply flip the switch back to the "ON" position.
7. Which brands of inverters can I use with this box? +
This box is ideal for all hybrid installations using Pylontech batteries, whether you have a Victron, WKS, Deye or any other brand of inverter compatible with 48V lithium storage.
8. What maintenance does the protection device require? +
The unit requires very little maintenance. We recommend an annual visual inspection and a manual test of the circuit breaker (test button or OFF/ON operation) to ensure it is functioning correctly.
