ZJBENY AC 16A/20A/25A 230V Lightning Arrester Box - Complete Protection for Photovoltaic Installations

The ZJBENY BBWx-1 lightning protection cabinet is a compact, robust electrical protection solution designed to protect your single-phase photovoltaic installations against overvoltages and voltage peaks. Equipped with Type 2 lightning protection and an adjustable circuit breaker, this IP65 enclosure is ideal for outdoor residential and commercial installations.

Advanced surge protection

This enclosure incorporates a Type 2 lightning arrester designed to absorb transient overvoltages of up to 40kA (Imax) and provide nominal protection of 20kA (In). The AC275V protection level guarantees the safety of your sensitive equipment: hybrid inverters, micro-inverters and electronic devices connected to the photovoltaic grid.

Type 2: Compliant with standard EN 62305, this type of surge protector is specifically recommended for photovoltaic installations downstream of the main switchboard. It provides effective protection against lightning-induced surges and mains switching.

Adjustable, versatile circuit breaker

The ZJBENY BBWx-1 box has an adjustable AC circuit breaker with three protection ratings:

• 16A: Suitable for single-phase inverters up to 3.6 kVA
• 20A: For inverters from 3.6 to 4.6 kVA
• 25A: Suitable for inverters up to 5.5 kVA

Installation and use

The box is easy to install thanks to its integrated wall fixings. The recommended typical installation is as follows:

1. Upstream: Type A 30mA earth leakage circuit breaker
2. ZJBENY BBWx-1 box: Lightning protection + calibrated circuit breaker
3. Downstream: Connection to inverter or AC distribution board

Connection to earth (PE terminal) is imperative to ensure the effectiveness of the surge arrester. Use an earth cable cross-section at least equal to the active conductors (L/N), with a length as short as possible (ideally ≤ 50 cm).
