The BYD Box-HV HVM 8.3 lithium battery is an energy storage solution for solar batteries, based on lithium iron phosphate cell technology (without cobalt). It has a 3-module configuration and a usable energy capacity of 8.28 kWh, with a nominal voltage of 153.6 V and a round-trip efficiency of 96%. It communicates via CAN/RS485 and has an IP55 protection rating for on-grid, on-grid + backup and off-grid applications.

  • Specifications: It provides 8.28 kWh of usable energy with a nominal voltage of 153.6 V, a maximum output current of 40 A and a peak output current of 75 A for 3 seconds.
  • Cells: The battery cell technology is specified as lithium iron phosphate (without cobalt), which is suitable for energy storage and solar batteries.

Backup and off-network

Off-grid applications and backup power capabilities are no problem for the Battery-Box. The high discharge capacity allows operation disconnected from the power grid.
