SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 – 5 kW single-phase hybrid inverter, 4th generation

A 5 kW hybrid inverter with exceptional specifications

The SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 is SolaX’s 4th-generation 5,000 W single-phase hybrid inverter. It stands out from all other 5 kW inverters in the range thanks to three unique features: a battery charging current of 30A (compared to 20A for the Sofar ESI-5K, and 120A for the Deye 5K, which is 48V), a peak EPS of 6,000 VA for a full hour, and native support for 200% PV oversizing. It is C10/11 certified for Belgium.

200% PV oversizing: up to 7,500 Wp for 5 kW

The X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 officially supports up to 7,500 Wp of panels for a nominal power of 5 kW — a ratio of 150% (and up to 200% depending on the configuration). In practical terms:

  • 15 x 500 Wp panels connectable to 2 MPPT channels (range 70–550 V, max 600 V, 16 A per MPPT)
  • Maximum output from sunrise to sunset, even on overcast days
  • Integrated shadow tracking — each MPPT optimisesoutput independently in the event of partial shading
  • Very low start-up voltage: 90V — the inverter starts generating power at first light

30A charging current: the battery charges quickly

With a charge and discharge current of 30A, the X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 offers 50% more charging power than the Sofar ESI (20A). With a compatible high-voltage battery, this means:

  • A fully charged battery earlier in the day
  • Faster recharging from the grid during off-peak hours
  • A more sustained discharge for consumption peaks

6,000 VA peak EPS for 1 hour: the longest-lasting backup in its class

In EPS mode (battery backup), the X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 can deliver 6,000 VA for a full hour — 150% of its rated power. This is considerably longer-lasting than most competitors, which limit their peak output to 10 seconds. This reserve allows for sustained power supply to:

  • Single-phase heat pump (prolonged high consumption)
  • Electric water heater
  • Single-phase electric vehicle charger
  • Multiple devices simultaneously during a prolonged power cut

Switching to EPS mode takes less than 10 ms.

C10/11 certification: suitable for installation in Belgium

The X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 is C10/11 certified, the Belgian standard for connecting generation installations to the distribution network. The maximum apparent power for C10/11 certification is 5,000 VA — exactly the Belgian single-phase limit — confirming that this inverter can be legally connected in Belgium with power feed-in.

Compatible battery: lithium-ion 80 to 480V

The battery voltage range of 80 to 480V offers great flexibility:

Type Voltage Notes

FAQ - SolaX Mono 5 kW Hybrid Inverter – X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1

1. Why can up to 7,500 Wp of panels be installed on this 5 kW SolaX inverter? +
The SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 allows for PV oversizing of up to 150% of the nominal AC power, i.e. 7,500 Wp of solar panels on a 5,000 W inverter. This oversizing is a common strategy in solar installations: panels rarely reach their rated power simultaneously (due to variable sunlight and thermal losses), so a higher PV power ensures that the inverter operates at full capacity for longer during the day, thereby maximising production and self-consumption. The inverter also features a shadow tracking function to optimise performance in partially shaded conditions.
2. What is the battery voltage range of the SolaX X1-Hybrid G4.1 and which batteries are compatible? +
The SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 supports a battery voltage range of 80 to 480 V, giving it great flexibility in terms of compatibility. It is compatible with lithium-ion batteries and, currently under development, with lead-acid batteries. The maximum continuous charge/discharge current is 30 A, and the peak UPS output power reaches 6,000 VA for 1 hour. This wide voltage range makes it compatible with many batteries on the market, from entry-level 48V packs to modular high-voltage systems. Consult the official SolaX compatibility list or contact us to check your specific combination.
3. What are the 5 operating modes of the SolaX X1-Hybrid G4.1 and which one should you use depending on your situation? +
The SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 offers 5 configurable operating modes: Auto mode (priority self-consumption with surplus storage), Emergency Battery mode (emergency reserve for power cuts), Manual mode (full control of charging/discharging), Time-of-Use mode with 2 programmable charging periods (ideal for off-peak/peak tariffs), and Minimal Export mode (limiting grid feed-in). Two charging periods are available to optimise battery cycles according to variable tariffs. The mode best suited to most households is Auto mode, which maximises daily self-consumption.
4. Is the SolaX X1-Hybrid G4.1 certified for Belgium (C10/11) and which other countries does it cover? +
Yes, the SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 is C10/11 certified, the Belgian technical standard for connecting photovoltaic installations to the distribution grid. It is also certified for Germany (VDE4105), the United Kingdom (G99/G98), Australia (AS4777), Europe (EN50549), Italy (CEI 0-21), Spain (RD1699), South Africa (NRS 097-2-1), and other international markets. Yes, the SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1 supports parallel operation both on-grid and off-grid, with up to 3 inverters (15 kW total). This capability allows you to gradually increase the power of a system without changing the inverter. Furthermore, it features intelligent load management (Smart Load), which automatically activates high-consumption appliances — such as a heat pump, a water heater, or an EV charging point — when there is surplus solar production, rather than feeding it into the grid. The response time for activating loads via CT is just 0.3 seconds.
6. What is the VPP (Virtual Power Plant) function of the SolaX X1-Hybrid G4.1 and who is it for? +
The VPP (Virtual Power Plant) function enables the inverter to participate in grid flexibility programmes. In practical terms, an energy aggregator can remotely control the charging and discharging of your battery to stabilise the grid during peak demand periods, in exchange for financial remuneration for the owner. This feature, currently under rapid development in Europe, is aimed at owners wishing to derive economic value from their battery storage beyond simple self-consumption. The SolaX X1-Hybrid G4.1 is therefore ready for ancillary services on the electricity market.
7. What are the efficiency, connectivity and installation requirements of the SolaX X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4.1? +
