Multisolar F16 30 kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter – Performance and flexibility for large-scale installations
The Multisolar F16 is a 30 kW three-phase hybrid inverter designed for high-end commercial or residential photovoltaic installations requiring high-voltage storage. Thanks to its IP65 protection rating, it can be installed outdoors or in premises exposed to humidity and dust. Its robust design, integrated AC coupling and ability to operate in parallel with up to four units make it a scalable solution for power outputs of up to 120 kW.
Three independent MPPT trackers to maximise solar output
The Multisolar F16 features 3 independent MPPT trackers, each accepting 2 strings and supporting up to 26A of input current. The MPPT voltage range extends from 350 to 900 Vdc, with a maximum PV voltage of 1,000 Vdc. The total PV input can reach 40,000 Wp, providing a generous PV overcapacity ratio to compensate for losses due to orientation or partial shading.
High-voltage storage 600–1,000 Vdc
Unlike low-voltage hybrid inverters (48V), the Multisolar F16 is designed to operate with high-voltage batteries between 600 and 1,000 Vdc. This technological choice reduces conversion losses, improves the system’s overall efficiency and allows large amounts of energy to be stored using cables with a smaller cross-section. The maximum charging current is 30A, adjustable by the user. BMS communication takes place via a dedicated RS485 port.
Integrated AC coupling: modernise without replacing everything
Integrated AC coupling is one of the Multisolar F16’s key features. It allows the inverter to be connected to an existing grid-tied inverter system and to add storage capacity without replacing the existing solar installation. This approach significantly reduces the cost of migrating to a hybrid system for sites already equipped with panels and a conventional grid-tied inverter.
Unbalanced load management up to 150%
In a three-phase environment, loads are rarely distributed evenly across the three phases. The Multisolar F16 supports a load imbalance of 150%, meaning that each phase can supply up to 15 kW of load without the inverter derating or tripping. This high tolerance is particularly useful in industrial, agricultural or commercial environments where certain high-power single-phase equipment is used.
Parallel operation with up to 4 units
The Multisolar F16 can be combined with 3 other identical units to achieve a total power output of 120 kW. This modularity allows the installation to be sized according to current needs, then gradually expanded without altering the system architecture. Communication between inverters is via RS485.
Monitoring and communication
The F16 features a built-in Wi-Fi module enabling monitoring via the SolarPower mobile app (available for Windows, Mac AMD, Mac ARM and Linux). The communication interface also includes RS-232, USB and RS-485 ports, as well as a dry contact. SNMP, MODBUS and GPRS options are available via an optional smart slot, for integration into energy management systems (EMS/SCADA).
Dual output and intelligent load management
The Multisolar F16 features a dual AC output: the main output continuously powers priority loads (even when off-grid), whilst a second output can be configured by the user as a generator input or programmable output for managing secondary loads. This functionality allows the consumption of stored energy to be optimised according to priorities defined by the installer.
