1. Why use a sensitivity of 300mA rather than 30mA? +
The 300mA sensitivity is primarily intended for fire protection and protection against general insulation faults. It is ideal at the head of an installation or for industrial circuits. Conversely, the 30mA is a mandatory high-sensitivity protection for the direct protection of people against electric shocks on terminal circuits (sockets, lighting).
2. Does this device protect against electrical overloads? +
No. A residual current device (RCD ) only detects earth leakage currents. To protect your installation against overloads or short circuits, it must be combined with downstream branch circuit breakers. Its 100A rating indicates the maximum current it can withstand without being damaged.
3. What is the purpose of the 3P+N (4-pole) configuration? +
