1. Which solar cable cross-section should I choose (2x4, 2x6, 2x10 mm²)? +
The cross-section depends on current and especially on cable length: the longer it is, the more you must limit voltage drop by increasing the cross-section. Also choose according to your setup (string, extension, branch connection).
2. How can I extend a solar panel cable? +
Use an MC4 extension cable of the right length (male/female depending on the need) for a clean, compatible extension.
3. What are MC4 connectors used for? +
MC4 connectors provide a reliable, standardized connection between panels, extension leads and branch connections in PV systems.
4. When should I use a double or triple MC4 connector? +
To make a branch connection (connect several branches) depending on how many strings you need to combine.
5. Why add an earthing (ground) cable? +
