Find everything you need to connect, install and monitor your batteries: power cables (correct cross-section for your installation), BMS communication cables, stacking supports and bases and smart meters for energy monitoring. Compatible with Pylontech, BYD, Marstek and most solar batteries on the market. To choose the right cable cross-section for your current and cable length, use our voltage drop calculator.
Choose in 30 seconds
- Power cables: check the cross-section (mm²) based on cable length and maximum current. Use our voltage drop calculator to avoid energy losses and overheating risks.
- BMS communication cables: choose the cable matching your inverter + battery combination (e.g. WKS / Pylontech, Deye / BYD...). Without BMS communication, the inverter cannot intelligently manage charge/discharge.
- Supports and bases: for stable and compliant stacking of Pylontech or similar modules. Check compatibility with your battery model before ordering.
- Smart meters: essential for Plug & Play batteries (Marstek CT002 / CT003) and to optimise charge/discharge based on your real consumption. Choose the right CT model for your installation (single-phase or three-phase).
- Monitoring accessories: battery monitors, current clamps and shunts to track state of charge and bank health in real time.
FAQ - Battery accessories
Solar battery accessories: complete guide for a reliable and high-performance installation
A solar battery, however good, will only deliver its best performance if it is correctly connected, installed and monitored. Battery accessories — power cables, BMS communication cables, stacking supports and smart meters — are the elements that make the difference between a lasting installation and a disappointing one.
Power cables: cross-section and length, the two essential criteria
Two common and costly mistakes:
- Insufficient cross-section: an undersized cable for the current it carries heats up, wastes energy through Joule losses and can become dangerous. For a 5 kVA inverter at 48V, DC current can reach 100A — always verify the admissible cross-section.
- Excessive length: the longer the cable, the greater the voltage drop. Excessive voltage drop reduces installation efficiency and can cause unwanted inverter trips.
Use our voltage drop calculator to determine the optimal cross-section for your configuration. For PV cables (between panels and inverter), see our PV cables and connectors category.
BMS communication cables: essential for intelligent management
BMS communication is the "dialogue" between your battery and your hybrid inverter. Without this communication cable:
- The inverter doesn't know the battery's real state of charge
- It cannot limit charge/discharge based on temperature or state of health
- Automatic protections (overcharge, deep discharge) cannot activate correctly
Each inverter + battery combination requires a specific cable. The most common protocols are CAN bus and RS485. Verify the exact reference compatible with your inverter model (WKS, Deye, Sofar, Huawei...) and battery brand (Pylontech, BYD, Dyness...).
Stacking supports and bases
Modular lithium batteries like Pylontech US3000/US5000 stack in columns. To ensure stability and safety:
- Base unit: stabilises the column on the floor and protects the bottom module from impacts and moisture.
- Wall fixing kit: essential for seismically active zones or simply to secure a tall column (more than 3 modules).
- Compatibility: check that the support is designed for your exact model — dimensions vary between US3000, US5000 and other ranges.
Smart meters (CT / Smart Meter)
A smart meter is essential in two situations:
- Plug & Play batteries (Marstek, Zendure): the CT sensor measures your real-time consumption and tells the battery when to charge and discharge. Without a CT, the battery cannot self-optimise automatically.
- Hybrid inverter with zero-export management: the Smart Meter measures grid exchanges and allows the inverter to regulate production precisely to never export to the grid.
