    Rack unit (U)

There are different cabinet heights depending on installation requirements, and these can be measured in rack units (U).

Each rack unit or U is the distance between each horizontal separation for placing different accessories inside the cabinet. This distance is 1.75 inches, equivalent to 4.4445 cm in height.

For example, if we say a rack is 8U understand that has 8 units to install the device orAccessories 4.44 cm.

Usually, these accessories such as trays, guides, rails, etc. occupy a U unit (1U), but we can find other devices or accessories occupy more units, as support can be a box to install a PC, UPS, etc.. It must be said that there is also a half U unit (0.5 U), in which case one shelving unit can be fitted with two accessories.

So Sabiunités rack endo occupying devices we'll install know the height we need for our rack.

The rack unit size (U) is based on the standard specification for supports as defined in EIA-310.

    Types of wheel mounting

Depending on the installation requirement and the type of base, cart or chair, we can find different types of mounting. Among the most common are :

A - Through hole: This has a hole into which a screw or pin is inserted. This is a very simple installation system. Ideal for wheels that don't need to bear much load.
B - Threaded rod: has a threaded rod or nut, and is surface-mounted with a nut. This is generally the most commonly used fastening system.
C - Angled plate: These are generally less commonly used fastening systems, with side plates to be fastened to the base.
D - Plate: This has a rectangular or square plate on its surface, with 4 or more fixing holes at the base, and is one of the most common.
E - Smooth stem: The threadless stem is inserted into the female of the base, and can be found in typical office chairs with castors, TV stands, etc.
