The Smart BatteryProtect protects the battery by disconnecting it from non-essential charges before it is completely discharged (which would damage it) or before it has enough power left to launch the engine.

When you use Bluetooth to program smart BatteryProtect, you can set up any level of engagement/trigger you want. Alternatively, you can also set up one of the nine preset/trigger levels using the programming pin (see instruction manual).

If so, Bluetooth can be turned off.

The Smart BatteryProtect automatically detects the voltage of the system only once.


Bluetooth: very easy programming

A special configuration for lithium-ion batteries


With this mode, the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE-Bus BMS.
Note: BatteryProtect can also be used as a charging switch between a battery charger and a lithium-ion battery. See the login pattern in the instruction manual.


Extremely low energy consumption


This is an important feature for lithium-ion batteries, especially after a shutdown in case of low voltage.

Surge protection


To avoid damaging loads that are sensitive in the event of a power surge, the load is disconnected if the CC voltage exceeds 16.3 V and 32.6V respectively.


Burning protection

 

No relays, but MOSFET transistors, and therefore there are no sparks.


Delayed alarm exit


The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops for more than 12 seconds below the predetermined disconnection level. The start of the engine will therefore not activate the alarm. The alarm exit is an open collector exit protected from short circuits that is connected to the rail (negative), a maximum current of 50 mA. The alarm output is usually used to activate a buzzer, LED light or relay.


Time to disconnect and reconnect the load


The charge will be disconnected after 90 seconds as soon as the battery voltage drops below the predetermined level. If the battery voltage increases again to the connection threshold during this period (when the engine has been started for example), the charge will not disconnect.
The charge will be connected again as soon as the battery voltage has exceeded the predetermined charge reconnect voltage for 30 seconds.
